See You at the Studio!
Ten Years with Artists in Residence.
2.11.2023— 14.01.2024
An exhibition by KfW Stiftung in cooperation with Künstlerhaus Bethanien.

The deceptive simplicity of Orawan Arunrak's work reveals her true artistry.
Seemingly everyday objects whose utility we ordinarily take for granted - an explanatory sentence, a key that unlocks a door, a dolly that moves heavy things, a plastic bag that carries, a clock that tells the time - have been transformed into warped versions of themselves, stripped of their essential functionality. The key is broken, the sentence is perplexing, the dolly is tied up inside the plastic bag, the only number on the clock is zero. By intentionally distorting the mundane, Arunrak refocuses our attention, asking us to slow down and look closer.
